Concern Avrora Scientific & Production Association JSC is the largest Russian device-making group specialising in automation of ships and nuclear objects.
Over 40 years of existence Concern Avrora has automated more than 400 shipborne nuclear reactors and more than one thousand ships and vessels of various classes and displacement.
The Concern enjoys a long-standing relationship with India. One of the eight affiliated companies of the Concern is located in India looking after installation and service support of the Concern’s products supplied to the Indian customers. In the last 30 years appr. 80 control systems for technical facilities have been supplied to India, 31 more systems are contracted.
On June 4, 2010 Concern Avrora Scientific & Production Association JSC, St.Petersburg, Russia, has opened its first oversees liaison office in Mumbai, India.
The official inauguration ceremony was attended by Consul General of the Russian Federation in Mumbai H.E. Alexander V.Mantytsky, Chairman of Pipavav Shipyard Ltd. Shri Nikhil Gandhi, Director General of Concern Avrora Mr. Konstantin Y. Shilov, head of the Liaison Office Ms. Yana B. Kalinina, Deputy Representative of the State Corporation ‘Russian Technologies’ in India Mr. Eugeny A. Kurilko, Managing Director of JV «Rosoboronservice (India) Ltd.» Mr. V.G. Jayaprakasan, Managing Director of JV «Avrora (India) Marine Systems Pvt.Ltd.» Mr. G.K.K.Nair, other dignitaries and representatives of Mumbai business community. Leading industrial companies of India and Russian partners have extended their greetings on the occasion.
As Director General of Concern Avrora Mr. Konstantin Shilov points out, «opening of the Liaison office in India pursues the aim of augmentation of the volume of the Concern’s products for the rapidly growing Indian shipbuilding market, promotion of effective communication between the customer and the supplier, extending improved service and product support for the Concern’s products operated in India, implementation of the indigenisation programme through setting up manufacturing facilities in the territory of India».

Facilities available at the Liaison Office will enable Indian customers to promptly make indents for supply of spares and also to check out samples of the hi-tech products pertaining to automation of commercial ships, power facilities, objects of chemical, metallurgical, oil-and-gas extracting and processing industries. Future plans of the Concern for India include setting up production facilities and furthering cooperation in the areas of automation of commercial ships, offshore and land objects.
