Concern AVRORA Scientific and Production Association Join Stock Company was created as per the order of the Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry of the USSR dated 18th of March 1970.

The philosophy and aim of the enterprise's activities is determined as follows: 'Expansion of production and sales on the traditional for the Concern AVRORA Scientific and Production Association Join Stock Company science-intensive and solvent markets, development of adjacent market segments in order to provide deliveries and fulfill the government contractual works, to improve the well-being of all the employees of Concern AVRORA Scientific and Production Association Join Stock Company, to ensure scientific, technical and financial development of the enterprise and competitiveness of manufactured products on the world market, as well as to make a profit. During formation of scientific and technical policy in the field of creation of automated control systems for ships and vessels Concern AVRORA Scientific and Production Association Join Stock Company relies on the international experience of enterprises in the similar fields and on its own positive experience gained during the last years.

The main kinds of activity: Fulfilment of fundamental, applied, scientific, research and development, design, technological and other kinds of works on creation of sophisticated products of industrial and technical purpose, viz. development and manufacturing of control systems and devices for civil and naval vessels, including automated control systems of technical facilities, automated combat information and control systems, complex control systems, training systems and simulators; development and manufacturing of control systems for industrial, technological and power generation objects, transport and port facilities; automated control systems of technological processes of oil and gas extraction, processing and transportation, as well as other products of industrial and technical purpose; development and manufacturing of medical equipment, trading equipment, automatic machines and other consumer products; Manufacturing and supply of prototypes of the products being developed, their series production, rendering of technical support during implementation of new kinds of products; Warranty and post-warranty technical servicing, development of repair documentation. Two scientific councils are functioning at the Concern AVRORA Scientific and Production Association Join Stock Company for defense of master's and doctoral theses on technical sciences for the following specialties: 05.13.01. System analysis, control and processing of information (in shipbuilding); 05.13.06. Automation and control of technological processes and production (in shipbuilding).
